This goes from swordsman to swordsman. Phrase with which one explains the equality of two people in ability, expertness, or knowledge: giving to understand, that each one perceives, or guesses well the intention of the other, or foretells in that which one is going to do [perform, execute]. Lat. Dexter dextrum pravenit.

De diestro à diestro, el mas presto. Refr. que dá entender, que entre dos igualmente hábiles, astútos y sagáces el mas pronto en resolverse ò en emprender el intento se lleva la ventája. From swordsman to swordsman, the fastest. Idiom [proverb, saying] that means, that between two equally skilled, astute and wise the fastest in resolverse or in emprender the intention carries the advantage. It is taken from those equally skilled in the use of the sword, of whom the most agile in attacking carries a lot of advantage over the other. Lat. Ille est dexterior, qui prior aggreditur.
